D.C. police shot a man armed with a knife in Southeast Friday evening.
Officers responding to a report of threats of violence in the 4200 block of Fourth Street found a man with a knife who brandished it as he approached the officers, police said.
Officers fired their weapons at the man when he refused to comply with orders to drop the knife, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
