Police Seek Woman in Strong Arm Robbery

A woman walked into a bar...and got punched in the face by a 230-pound attacker.

The 27-year-old victim had little time to react as she walked into the Second Chance Saloon on Robert Oliver Place in Columbia.

Around 2 a.m. on May 29, as the victim walked through the bar's front door, a large woman who had been lurking in the entranceway struck suddenly.  Using a backhanded, close-fisted swing, she dropped the victim, and then took her purse while she was down.  Video shows the suspect throwing several more punches while the victim was on the ground.

Police said the 27-year-old female received treatment for minor facial injuries at the scene. She was part of a group of 35 people who had rented out a room for a party.

Howard County police said the suspect is approximately 5'5'' with a ponytail.  There is up to a $500 reward out for information leading police to the woman.  Those with information can call the Stop Crime Tip Line at 410-313-STOP.
