Police arrest one man, searching for second

Police are looking for a second man involved in a crime spree that ended in a police chase in the District Saturday night.

Police said the crime spree started when two men with guns carjacked the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pickup with Alabama tags near Hunt Street and 50th Place Northeast. A source told News4 the victim was so badly beaten he was taken to the hospital. His condition was not known.

Police said the same carjackers were involved in a street robbery on Elm Street, Northwest.

The chase ended in an alley at 11th and Raum Streets in Northeast, where police arrested one man, but and the other got away. A description of the suspect was not released.
