D.C. Police Search for Missing Six-Year-Old Girl

Six-year-old Eriona Birts last seen in the 2000 block of E Street NE

D.C. police are asking for the public's help to find a little girl who has been missing since Thursday night.

Six-year-old Eriona Birts was last seen in the 2000 block of E Street NE. She was wearing purple pants, a purple jacket and silver boots.

Police believe that Eriona may have left the District with her mother and a man who is wanted by police, News4's Jackie Bensen reported.

Eriona's father, Eric Birts, said he hasn't seen his daughter since her mother, Ebony Anderson -- his ex-girlfriend who was visiting from Arkansas -- asked to take her to a grocery store.

Birts believes Anderson, whom Birts said is legally blind from a medical condition, was driven to D.C. by her boyfriend, 30-year-old Roderick Williams, Bensen reported. News4 learned Williams is wanted by police in Pulaski County, Ark., for a violation of probation that could send him back to prison.

The day after his daughter disappeared, Birts went to a judge and was granted full, temporary custody of his daughter, Bensen reported. A custody ruling wasn't delivered previously since Birts and Anderson were never married.

If you have any information about her whereabouts, please call police at 202-727-9099, Youth Investigations Division at 202-576-6768, or 911.
