Pedestrian Struck After Child Injured, Man Killed in Southeast D.C.

A woman was struck by a car during a chaotic scene in Southeast D.C. following a double shooting.

A child was shot in the wrist and a man was shot and killed around 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Randle Place SE.

"There were a lot of people out on the street, there had been a recent game at the school so there were large crowds, a lot of people out walking," D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said.

As news of the shooting spread, dozens of neighbors gathered outside. News4's Shomari Stone reported a woman was struck by a car.

Police held a Metrobus on scene during the investigation, checking for possible survaillance video.

D.C. police tweeted said the lookout is for a black teen, aged 17 or 18 years old wearing a black jacket, black pants and black hat.
