D.C.’s Office of Tax and Revenue seized a Northeast steakhouse and gentlemen’s club to satisfy a debt owed by the owner.
James Redding owes the district more than $100,000 in sales and use taxes for TruOrleans Restaurant and Gallery, his former restaurant at 400 H Street NE.
OTR seized that restaurant in September and Redding’s current establishment, the Stadium Club at 2127 Queens Chapel Road, Thursday afternoon.
OTR said it made several unsuccessful attempts to collect outstanding taxes from Redding before taking action and seizing the Stadium Club.
