Gas prices in the D.C. metro area are down 8 cents from a week ago.
In its weekly report, AAA said Sunday that the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $2.27, down from $2.35 a week ago. The price is $1.12 cents lower than this time a year ago, when the price was $3.39.
The price of gas in the metro area is 13 cents above the national average of $2.14.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the District of Columbia alone is $2.58, down 5 cents from a week ago.
