Man Found Burned in Pr. George's Group Home

A man found in a Fort Washington group home died from burn injuries on Saturday.

Fire officials said they found the 67-year-old in his room at a group home.  The facility is located at the 2800 block of Cricklewood Drive.

After hearing a fire alarm go off, one of the caretakers ran to the man's aid and called emergency services.  The man suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns across 80 percent of his body.  He succumbed to his injuries at Washington Hospital Center.

Fire spokesman Mark Brady said that the cause of the fire was under investigation.  According to Brady, they were looking into whether cigarette smoking may have played a role.
