D.C. Man Charged in Attack on Elderly Alexandria Couple

A grand jury indicted a D.C. man who allegedly attacked an elderly couple in their Alexandria, Virginia, home earlier this year.

In addition to two robbery counts and two abduction counts, Horace White was charged with burglary while armed, malicious wounding and carjacking.

On Jan. 9, White was robbing a home on Jackson Place when its elderly residents returned, police said. White allegedly stabbed the man, sending him to the hospital. Neighbors claim White then took the man's wife to an ATM to withdraw money.

It took police almost two weeks after the attack before they found White and arrested him.

Due to the severity and multitude of charges, White could be sentenced to life in prison. His trial date should be set no later than March 19, according to the commonwealth's attorney.
