Funeral Service For Those Who Donated Bodies to Science

The state of Maryland is honoring those whose bodies were donated to science.

The State Anatomy Board says it will hold a burial service for the cremated remains of more than 600 people at the Springfield Hospital Center in Sykesville Monday afternoon.

And Gov. Martin O'Malley is proclaiming it ``Anatomical Donor Appreciation Day.''

The annual service recognizes the donated and unclaimed bodies used for medical and dental education and research in Maryland.

Families and friends of the deceased are invited to attend.
