D.C. Council to Hold Hearing on Snow Removal Plans

The D.C. Council is holding a hearing on the city's snow readiness plans.

Councilmember Mary Cheh, who chairs the council's transportation and environment committee, has organized a Tuesday morning hearing.

Meteorologists are expected to testify at the hearing along with Bill Howland, the director of public works, who will outline the department's snow removal operations plan.

Cheh says she called for the hearing to make sure that D.C. will be prepared for severe winter weather, such as the consecutive blizzards that hit the region in 2010.

The hearing starts at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Room 500 of the John A. Wilson Building.
