D.C. Cop Gets 7 Months in Burglary Case

A former District of Columbia police officer caught in an internal sting has been sentenced to seven months in prison for acting as a lookout during a burglary.

Jennifer Green was sentenced Monday in D.C. Superior Court. She has resigned from the police department as part of her plea agreement.

Prosecutors say Green met with a cooperating witness in March and discussed plans to steal money and drugs from an apartment in the District. Green sat in a car and used her police-issued radio to act as a lookout during the burglary. After sharing more than half of the stolen money, she was arrested that evening.

U.S. Attorney Ron Machen said Green broke the law she was sworn to uphold.
