D.C. Bridge Closes for New “Captain America” Film

Washington's Theodore Roosevelt Bridge will be closing temporarily for a major motion picture, the D.C. film office said.

The bridge between the nation's capital and Virginia will close intermittently Sunday for “Freezer Burn,” according to the office. The working title has been connected to a new “Captain America” movie.

Disney announced last month that filming began for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in Los Angeles, Cleveland and Washington. It stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford.

The Roosevelt Bridge plays an integral role, D.C. film officials said. Film crews plan to capture aerial shots and will film at other Washington sites.

The bridge will be closed Sunday from 8:20 a.m. to 9:10 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
