A D.C.-bound Amtrak train struck a trailer on the tracks in Culpeper, Virginia, Friday morning, according to Amtrak.
The Crescent, which travels between New Orleans and New York daily, struck the trailer being towed by a truck about 11 a.m.
The trailer wrapped around the front of the locomotive.
It was removed from the train and the tracks.
The Crescent, which was carrying 228 passengers, continued on its trip.
