DC Baby Girl's Death From Apparent Burns Ruled Homicide

A baby girl who suffered burns last week in Southeast D.C. died Monday.

Six-month-old Brooklynn Zakiyaa Hill-Davis' death was ruled a homicide.

Police went to the 1900 block of Valley Terrace SE about 6 p.m. Sept. 5 to assist D.C. Fire and EMS. The girl had suffered apparent burn injuries, police said.

She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died five days later, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found the cause of death was complications of thermal injuries.
