Crash Kills 1, Seriously Injuries Another in Alexandria

One person is dead and another person was injured after a crash in Alexandria, Virginia, early Saturday morning, according to police.

Investigators said one person, a 24-year-old person from Silver Spring, Maryland, died from injuries on the scene in the 300 block of South Henry Street. Another person, a Fairfax County resident, 24, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said a vehicle driven by Simon Pedro Urbino-Vasques, 27, from Fairfax County, was driving southboutnd on South Henry Road just after 3 a.m., when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Urbino-Vasques was charged with vehicular manslaughter (DUI related).
