Three people were hurt in a multi-car crash on the Outer Loop of the Beltway in Prince George's County, Maryland, Wednesday night, and traffic is backed up as authorities investigate.
At least three cars were involved in the crash just before Ritchie Marlboro Road in Forestville, Prince George's County fire officials said.
One person thrown from a car and found lying in the middle of the road has critical injuries, the fire department said.
Two others were taken to a hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
WTOP reports the right shoulder of the Outer Loop is closed for the crash investigation.
Maryland State Police are investigating.
