Crane Falls onto Route 7 in Tysons Corner

A large crane fell across Route 7 in Tysons Corner Monday afternoon, creating large traffic backups during the evening rush.

The incident originally forced the roadway to be closed in both directions at the Beltway.  However, one lane headed eastbound re-opened by 4:50 p.m.

Take Route 123 to get around the incident.

Officials are bringing in another crane to remove the toppled crane from the roadway.  Officials estimate that the road will be blocked for another two hours.

No injuries were reported.
