Cracked Rail Causes Red Line Delays

Expect delays up to 30 minutes through rush hour

Metro trains are sharing one track between the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan and Van Ness-UDC stations on the Red Line while workers repair a cracked rail.

The crack was discovered just after 4 p.m. Friday on the outbound track near the Woodley Park station.

Riders can expect delays of up to 30 minutes through 7 p.m.

Riders can use the L2 Metrobus instead, but buses can carry about 50 passengers while trains can carry 1,000.
