County Fair Workers Hurt in Explosion

Two injured while preparing fried food in tent

Fire investigators are looking into what caused an explosion that injured two workers at the Shenandoah County Fair Sunday.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. in a designated vending area of the fair. The workers were preparing fried food tent when the explosion occurred.

The workers were airlifted to a hospital with severe burns. 

Their identities have not been released.

The fair resumed after officials cleared the fire scene.
