Council Wants ‘No Taxation' Slogan on Obama's Limo

Bush removed slogan from presidential plates

The D.C. Council wants President-elect Barack Obama to restore the city's license plate slogan, "No taxation without representation," to the presidential limousine.

The city adopted the slogan in the late 1990s, but President George W. Bush's administration eliminated the words from presidential vehicles.

D.C. Council member Jack Evans authored an appeal to Obama that was signed by all 13 council members. Evans said he's confident Obama will agree to the symbolic act.
