College Student Pleads Guilty to Shooting at Professor

A former college student has pleaded guilty in a case that would no doubt send shivers up any teacher’s spine.

Police said 21-year-old Jason Hamilton, of Manassas, Va., opened fire on his math professor because he was upset with his grade in a classroom at Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge in December 2009.

At Monday’s plea hearing, police said Hamilton fired two rifle shots at his professor. He faces two to 20 years behind bars.

Hamilton pleaded guilty to attempted murder.
