Police release sketch of suspect in girl’s attack

A 7-year-old girl was sexually assaulted Sunday outside a laundromat in Arlington, Va.

The attack happened at about 5:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of Columbia Pike, near Glebe Road. 

The girl was outside the laundromat, waiting for her mother to finish washing clothes, when a man grabbed her and pulled her into a playhouse and sexually assaulted her, according to police. 

The girl was later taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made.

Arlington County police released a computer-generated sketch of the suspect. It’s based on details given by witnesses at the scene.

The girl’s attacker was last seen wearing a purple short-sleeved shirt with green writing in the upper right corner. He also had on dark pants and black dress shoes.
