The Cheverly (Md.) Police Department is warning residents about an unauthorized door-to-door solicitation effort with offers of free water testing.
Over the last week, several fliers and small vials have been left at residents' homes from the so-called "Baltimore Water Company."
Investigators say the company does not have the necessary permits to make such solicitations. It was told to stop.
Residents are encouraged to contact police if they receive a water-testing package or see them around their neighborhoods.
