Earth Day 2019 Specials in the DC Area for You and Your Family

Earth Day is April 22, 2019

Going green and getting around the District will be easy on Earth Day (April 22, 2019) with these deals and specials. We’ll be updating this post with more bargains as we hear of them.

Get Around DC:

Capital Bikeshare: The District’s shared bicycle network will offer unlimited 30-minute rides when users open the CaBi app and enter the code “EARTHDAY19.” For 24 hours, DC residents can give bikeshare a try and contribute to a greener commute. The operator says that so far in 2019, CaBi riders have completed about 700,000 trips, offsetting more than 1 million pounds of carbon from entering the atmosphere.

Via: Ditch a private car ride when you ride with Via, the ride-hailing company, which is running shared rides exclusively on Earth Day. The change in service on April 22 is meant to reduce the carbon footprint of a single-occupancy vehicle making multiple individual commutes.

Enjoy a Sale:

Buffalo Exchange: The popular chain is bringing back its Earth Day $1 Day Sale to benefit the Human Society of the United States on Saturday, April 20. Participating locations, including D.C.'s 1318 14th Street location, will offer men's and women's clothing, shoes and accessories for a buck. The cash only sale will start at the store's opening time and run until supplies run out.

Grab a Bite:

BurgerFi: The fast food joint will be celebrating Earth Day with $5 VegeFi Burgers and $ Beyond Burgers with Heinz Tomato seed packets for you to start your own home gardens.
