Update: Case Closed for Rep. Moran's Son

Patrick Moran, the son of Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va., won't be charged after an investigation into whether he plotted to cast fraudulent ballots.

Arlington County Police said they investigated Moran after receiving an undercover video in which Moran is shown apparently assisting others to vote illegally and disclosing plans to cast fraudulent ballots.

But Thursday, police said the conservative group responsible for producing the video failed to provide police or detectives with any assistance. Moran fully cooperated, police said.

Police, the Virginia attorney general and the Arlington County commonwealth's attorney have concluded their investigation into alleged election offenses and determined that no charges will be brought against Moran. The case is now closed.

Moran resigned as Director of Field Operations for the Jim Moran for Congress campaign shortly after the video was released.
