Car Crash Leads Police to Alleged Marijuana Growing Operation

Car crash leads to drug bust in Howard County

What’s worse than having a car crash into your house? When that crash calls attention to your marijuana stash.

Richard Marriott, of Ellicott City, Md., is facing several charges, after police found marijuana plants in his house in December.

Police went to Marriott's only after a man lost control of his BMW and plowed right into the home. Emergency workers also found hydroponic and lighting equipment used for what police called a growing operation.

The driver of the BMW, Bryan Bolster, died at the scene.
