Five people were injured Wednesday when a car slammed head-on into a minivan.
An elderly woman was driving northbound on Old Georgetown near Beech Avenue in Bethesda, Md., when she crossed into the southbound lanes and hit the minivan about 3 p.m.
A third car also was involved in the collision.
The injured were taken to local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Traffic was backed up for a couple of hours in the area.
