Burglar Targets More Prince William Homes: Police

Police believe 14 incidents in two nights are related

One burglar apparently hit nine homes and five vehicles in Prince William County neighborhoods in just two nights, police said.

The break-ins and attempted break-ins took place late Sunday and Monday nights in the Haymarket, Va., area. In most cases, the burglar entered through an unlocked door or window while residents slept, police said. Cash and purses were taken.

The scenario sounds very familiar in Fairfax County, where about 60 break-ins and attempted break-ins were reported over the past six weeks. In most cases, the burglar also used an unlocked door and stole purses or cash.

Investigators have yet to definitely link the Prince William County and Fairfax County cases.

No one has been seriously hurt.
