Brochure Offers Advice for Families of Missing Virginians

The state has compiled a resource guide for families of missing Virginians.

The document was prompted by the Virginia State Crime Commission's 2014 study on missing persons and search and rescue teams. The commission asked the Department of Criminal Justice Services to write a brochure to give Virginians advice on what to do when a family member goes missing.

The brochure includes contact information for state and national organizations that deal with missing persons. It also offers guidance on dealing with law enforcement and taking care of other family members during the crisis.

The document is available on the DCJS website.
