Breast Cancer Walk Moves from Nat'l Mall to Six Flags

A breast cancer awareness walk scheduled to take place at the National Mall this Sunday has been relocated to Six Flags.

According to a news release from Six Flags and the American Cancer Society, 2,000 walkers from across the D.C. area were scheduled to attend "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer."

Due to the government shutdown, which has resulted in many closures of monuments, museums and landmarks, the event has been relocated.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. at Six Flags in Upper Marlboro, Md. Participants will walk through the park for approximately two hours, and have the option of purchasing two-for-one tickets to the park afterwards.

Registration for the event will remain open until 5 p.m. Friday and costs $25.
