Boaters Find Body in Potomac River Near Belle Haven Marina

No obvious signs of trauma

Fairfax County police are investigating a body discovered in the Potomac River on Jan. 2.

Two recreational boaters found the body around 9 a.m. Police responded to the Belle Haven Marina at 6401 George Washington Parkway and retrieved the body of an adult male.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but police said there are no obvious signs of trauma. The medical examiner is working to determine a cause of death.

UPDATE: Police have identified the body in this case as Muhammad H. Rehman, 23, of 1204 South Washington Street in Alexandria.
