Rain-Snow Mix Expected Friday Before Temperatures Soar Near 70 on Sunday

What to Know

  • Some light rain and wet snow are likely to arrive by mid to late morning Friday and hang around throughout the afternoon
  • No significant accumulations of snow are expected, but there could be enough to whiten the ground for areas north and west of DC

There's a chance for some very light, wet snow Friday, but the weather roller coaster will bring us temperatures near 70 degrees just a couple of days after.

Friday will be cloudy and cold, with highs around 40. Some light rain and wet snow are likely to arrive by mid to late morning and hang around throughout the afternoon. No significant accumulations of snow are expected, but there could be enough to whiten the ground for areas north and west of D.C. That light rain and snow will end late Friday evening.

Saturday will start and end cloudy, but there could be a few breaks of sunshine in the afternoon with highs near 50 degrees. That evening, we have another chance of rain. Temperatures will be around 40 on Saturday night, so this will be an all-rain event, with the best chances between 8 p.m. Saturday and around 8 a.m. Sunday.

Temperatures will really soar into the 60s and possibly hit 70 on Sunday, depending on how much sunshine develops.

Monday looks partly sunny with highs in the mid-50s to low-60s.

Dry weather will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the low 50s.
