Baltimore Ravens Cheerleader Killed in Crash

Maryland State Police said a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader was killed in a motorcycle crash on U.S. 15 in Frederick County Friday morning.

Authorities said Dion Bagby, 27, of Vienna, Va., was driving to Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania on Friday morning when he collided with a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta that was turning left, according to The Frederick News-Post.

Bagby was a cheerleading coach for Infinity All Stars.

"Dion was just an amazing guy, great coach and an even better friend,” Brad Palmer, owner of Infinity All Stars told News4's Shomari Stone.

"He was like a big brother to her," the mother of one of his students at Inifinity said.

Bagby had recently tried out for the Baltimore Ravens' co-ed cheerleading squad, made the team and was set to start his first season with the NFL squad this fall.

The Ravens released the following statement:

"This is such sad news and the entire Ravens family is in mourning over Dion's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dion's family and friends."

He was originally from Oklahoma.

The driver of the Volkswagen was not seriously injured. The accident remains under investigation.
