A man has been charged with sexual abuse after children he cared for reported him to a relative.
The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said that several children under the age of 10 told a family member that Ronald Christopher Sparks, 53, had touched them inappropriately. Police responded to a call from the family on August 12, and after an investigation, arrested Sparks on August 15.
Sparks was charged with Child Sexual Abuse and Third Degree Sex Offense. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released, and other charges are pending review.
