Maryland Art Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse of Two Students

An instructor at a Maryland art center sexually abused two of his students, according to Montgomery County police.

Gene Alphonse Brugada Pasay, 30, of Silver Spring instructed the two boys —ages 10 and 11 at the time of alleged abuse — at Renaissance Art Center in Gaithersburg, police said.

According to police, Pasay made sexual gestures, talked about topics of a sexual nature, and showed the boys inappropriate videos and photographs. The boys told police it took place during art class between September 2018 and March 2019.

The Montgomery County police Special Victims Investigations Division learned about the alleged sexual abuse June 4.

Pasay was arrested Monday. He is being held without bond.
