Arsonist Strikes Again on Va. Eastern Shore

37 fires have been set since November 13

Police in Accomack County on Virginia's Eastern Shore say a serial arsonist struck again sometime Saturday night.

Investigators say that a fire broke out at an abandoned storage storage structure. As in all the previous incidents, no one was hurt.

In all, 37 fires have been set in Accomack County since November 13, according to Virginia State Police. Authorities believe that most of the fires -- which have all been set in unoccupied, abandoned structures -- are the work of the same arsonist, but they aren't ruling out the possibility that some may be the work of a copycat.

Accomack County officials say there are as many as 800 abandoned structures in the county. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
