Arson in NE Leaves Two Families Displaced

Officials with the DC Housing Authority say two fires were purposely set.

DC Fire Investigators and DC Police are looking for a suspect after two fires were set outside two public housing townhomes.  

The incident happened in the 4500 block of Quarles Street in Northeast Washington. Officials with the Housing Authority confirm that an accelerant was used to set the fires.

One of the residents told News4 that she saw the fire outside her door around 4 a.m. The woman says she ran and got her 4-year-old child from the building's second floor and was able to make it out the front unharmed.

No injuries were reported.  Two familes are now diplaced due to the fire.
