D.C. police arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man in Northwest in May.
Dwayne Brisbon, 33, went out to celebrate a promotion the night of April 30. On his way home about 2 a.m. May 1, he saw two people involved in a dispute and got out of his car to help, News4's Pat Collins reported. He then got into a physical altercation with a man, which resulted in Brisbon getting stabbed in the neck.
Brisbon tried to drive to a hospital but crashed into a light pole in the 500 block of Florida Avenue NW, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested 30-year-old Johnathan Dawkins of D.C. in the case. Surveillance video led to a tip that led to the evidence that resulted in this arrest, Collins reported.
Brisbon was an X-ray technician at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
