Second Arrest Made in WVU Beating

Student allegedly beat into a coma over World Series argument

The second man sought in the severe beating of a West Virginia University student from northern Virginia turned himself in to police Friday, WBOY TV reported.

Jonathon May, 18, of Newark, Del., surrendered to Morgantown, W.Va., police on an outstanding malicious wounding warrant, according to the police department. He was arraigned and released on bond.

Another Delaware man, 18-year-old Austin Vantrease, was arrested in connection with the crime earlier this week.

Ryan Diviney, 20, of Ashburn, was kicked and beaten by a group of people outside a convenience store off campus last month. He suffered brain damage and remains hospitalized in a coma.

Police said May and Vantrease had an argument with Diviney over the World Series, which led to a fight.
