Police in Howard County have charged a Columbia man with the murder of a bail bondswoman.
Dominique Davon McDonald, 21, is accused of killing Nichole McNair.
Investigators said McDonald arranged to meet McNair Monday night to make a payment on money owed for a recent bail.
Neighbors in the area of the meeting called police around 10 p.m. to report a gunshot.
Officers discovered McNair in the parking lot of an apartment building suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was taken to Howard County hospital in critical condition but later died.
Witnesses told police they saw a man in a hooded jacket run from the scene.

Police found the victim's car at the scene still running.
During a search of the vehicle, they found evidence indicating she was collecting a payment from McDonald.
A search of the area yielded McNair's cell phone and part of another cell phone that was later determined to belong to McDonald.
Investigators located the suspect and found a jacket with a hood, a loaded handgun, and the other part of the cell phone.
McDonald is charged with first and second degree murder.
He's being held in Howard County Detention Center on $2 million bond.
