Police False Report of Armed Robbery, Carjacking Near University of Maryland

Police continue search for three suspects

UPDATE: Prince George's County police charged 35-year-old Shoaib Khan of Gaithersburg with filing a false police report. He told police his car was taken in an armed carjacking, but Montgomery County police found the vehicle prior to the alleged carjacking, police said.


Police are searching for the three men involved in an armed robbery and carjacking in College Park, Maryland. It happened just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Princeton Avenue and Hartwick Road.

Police said a the victim, 35, was about to get into his Lexus when the men approached him. The suspects reportedly beat the victim and robbed him before taking the car. The car was later found in Wheaton. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
