An alligator was discovered in a Koi pond in Montgomery County Friday morning.
Montgomery County Police Department, Animal Control and Department of Natural Resources police arrived at a home on Denit Estates Drive in Brookville. The homeowner called authorities after spotting the alligator in his back yard pond.
Officials drained the pond and captured the 3-foot alligator. The animal was relocated to the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo in Frederick County.
DNR police are investigating how the gator found its way into the Koi pond.
