Alleged Bank Robber Drops Stolen Cash, Slips on Ice

A man accused of robbing a Laurel bank Wednesday was seen dropping a bag of stolen cash -- but that's not the only thing that slowed down the clumsy robber.

Police say the robbery occurred around 9:30 a.m. at a PNC Bank. The suspect, Robert Williams, is seen on surveillance video dropping all of the cash he had allegedly stolen and frantically picking it up and stuffing it into an open umbrella.

Williams drove away from the scene, fleeing to Howard County. Police deploy stop sticks, flattening two of the suspect's tires. When he exited his car to flee, he slipped on a patch of ice, cutting his head, a spokesperson for the City of Laurel said.

Williams was arrested charged with robbery and numerous traffic offenses.
