Airports Authority to Consider New Dulles Metro Proposal

Loudoun County backs LaHood-backed proposal

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted to accept a Dulles Metrorail proposal backed by U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Under that plan the station would be built above ground instead of below -- one of the key issues in funding the next phase of the project.

The airports authority will take up the issue Wednesday.

The board previously voted to build the station underground, even though that’s more expensive.
