Accused Va. Teacher Linked to Decades of Sex Abuse

A Manassas high school teacher accused of sexually abusing a former student reportedly switched jobs for decades despite suspicions by supervisors and others.

The Washington Post reported Sunday that Kevin Ricks worked as a teacher, tutor, foreign exchange host and camp counselor despite suspicions dating to at least 1978, with alleged victims spanning the globe. The newspaper reports Ricks worked in public and private
schools, eluding policies to prevent abuse.

Ricks is facing charges involving a former Osbourn High School student.

The newspaper says investigators have found photographs and other evidence of decades-old abuse and interviewed former students who said they were abused. Rick issued a statement Friday saying he is seeking forgiveness.
