A New Way to Buy Nats Tickets

Team offers payment plans for season ticketholders

The Washington Nationals have come up with a new payment plan for season tickets, as the club looks for new ways to attract business.

The Grand Slam E-Z Payment Plan allows fans to pay for season tickets in monthly installments, rather than in one lump sum. Under the plan, ticketholders can spread the payments on their credit cards over a six-month period.

The installment plan is the latest in a series of measures by the Nats to attract fans during the economic downturn.  In September, team officials lowered season ticket prices for 7,500 seats, and on Thursday lowered individual-sale ticket prices on 14,000 seats.

Nationals president Stan Kasten says the economy "is definitely having an impact" on the team.

The Nationals' position last season as the team with the worst record in baseball isn't helping either.  "Excellent season ticket locations are still available throughout the ballpark," a news release from the team said.
