Navy Pilot in Coronado Murder-Suicide from Prince Frederick, Md.

Three deaths ruled homicides; fourth a suicide

One of the four people found dead at a Coronado, Ca. home during the early morning hours on New Year’s Day is a U.S. Navy pilot from Prince Frederick, Md., according to officials.

John Robert Reeves, 25, of Prince Frederick was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.  His death has been ruled a suicide.

Three other people were found dead at the residence, including another Navy pilot who lived with Reeves.  Those three deaths have been ruled homicides.

Reeves became commissioned in the Navy through the ROTC program at Penn State University in May of 2008, said officials.  He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
