National Guard members who tended to injured soldiers return from Iraq

It was a welcome home ceremony suited for heroes when 60 members of the Maryland National Guard returned to Laurel on Wednesday night.

They returned to home soil after spending 10 months serving in Iraq.

Family and friends greeted the medical company with cheers, tears, hugs and kisses at the National Guard Armory in Laurel.

While overseas, the 224th Support Medical Company rescued injured soldiers in the field.  They also provided basic medical, dental and psychological care.
