A DC woman who lost her fiancee in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks says she's now heartbroken over a second loss.
Bianca Grimaldi told News4 her engagement ring disappeared while she was walking at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Northwest Washington with her 2-year-old son.
Grimaldi said her fiancee, Paul Ambrose, gave her the ring before he boarded American Airlines Flight 77 on Sept. 11, 2001. That plane struck the Pentagon.
Grimaldi has since re-married, but she had worn Ambrose's ring on her finger, then later as a pendant around her neck every day before she lost it.
"I have a lot to be thankful for," Grimaldi said, in tears. "I have a great life. I just really want [the ring] back."
Grimaldi said she retraced her steps when she realized the ring was gone, but couldn't find it. She's hoping anyone who comes across the missing pendant will return it.
"It's my only piece of him," Grimaldi said of the ring. "I have pictures, but that's it. That's my only piece of him."
